When injured in an accident, you have medical bills that you may not be able to pay. Loss of income can be crippling to you and your family. If the accident was not your fault, you have a right to compensation. A lawyer is trained to protect your rights and see that you are fairly treated.
Accident Checklist
The office staff will schedule your initial appointment. At that time, you should bring with you the following information:
- Any and all information pertaining to the accident including the accident report.
- The names, addresses and phone numbers of witnesses, copies of any medical bills you have.
- A copy of any and all insurance information relating to the other party including policy number, claim number, adjuster's name, address and phone number, if available.
- A copy of your automobile insurance policy or that for the car in which you were riding, including the declaration page.
Please remember:
- Do not discuss your case with any insurance company or other person without consulting us first.
- Keep all doctor's appointments. Be timely and do not cancel or break appointments.
- Bring all doctor's bills and prescriptions to us.
- Discuss time missed from work with your employer and your doctor.
Let us know if:
- You have changed your address or phone number.
- You are released from your doctor's care.
- You have any problems.
In anticipation of an appointment, it is often helpful for you to provide the following information:
- The name and address of the person causing the accident.
- The names and addresses of all witnesses.
- The name of the police officer.
- Copy of the declaration page to your automobile insurance policy.
- Names, addresses, and phone numbers of all health care providers.
- Any information you may have received from any insurance company about the accident.
For your information, fees are charged on a contingency basis: typically one-third of the amount recovered with regard to injured adults, and one-quarter of the amount recovered with regard to injured minors. Also, we recover from you costs and expenses incurred on your behalf.
